We are passionate about wool. Genuine EcoWool sheepskin rugs are hardwearing, soft, and luxurious. Retailers can sell similar products at lower prices but they may be poor quality. It's a bit like buying a leather jacket. You can get discounted products but the quality is not good.
Our rugs are genuine sheepskin. That means that it is a tanned leather back. Sometimes you can buy wool weave rugs that retailers pretend to be sheepskin. These are imitations and do not last as long. Some leather backing is cheap and patchy. Our sheepskin rug backing is consistently thick. This means it is top quality. A genuine sheepskin rug has a suede backing. 'Wool weave' is just left over wool woven into a cotton backing. The suede backing should be very very strong. If you can rip it with your hands it is low quality. Low quality rugs have a very thin suede backing.
